A yoga & hiking retreat designed to slow you down — not wear you out

Most retreats pack in too much. This one is built around the opposite principle.

Every day has a rhythm: morning yoga to wake the body gently, a conscious hike through Mallorca’s UNESCO Tramuntana mountains, and an evening practice to release the day and help you sleep deeply. In between — space. Time to sit with a coffee, watch the sea, breathe.
Through a blend of yoga, meditation, Ayurveda and forest therapy, you’ll reconnect with your body’s natural pace, quiet the mental overload and build a self-care toolkit you can actually use when you get home.

You will leave calmer, lighter, and sleeping better than you have in months.

Why this retreat works — and why people come back

Autumn in Mallorca is unlike anywhere else in October. The trails are quiet, the light is golden and the air carries the scent of orange and pine. It’s the season nature uses to shed what no longer serves — and it’s the perfect time to do the same.

This is not a holiday. It’s a deliberate pause. Five days to stop the mental noise, move your body with intention and return home feeling like yourself again.

Yoga, Ayurveda & mindset coaching with Jana

I’ve spent 20 years studying what actually helps people feel better in their bodies and clearer in their minds — not just on retreat, but in real daily life.

On this trip I bring together three things that work beautifully in combination: yoga to release physical tension and reconnect you with your body; Ayurveda to give you simple, sustainable self-care rituals you can use every morning at home; and NLP coaching to help you notice the stories you’re telling yourself — and choose better ones. Because the words you use every day shape how you feel every day. And small shifts in language create surprisingly large shifts in how you move through the world.

I’m a certified yoga, meditation and Ayurveda teacher, a NLP Coach, and a licensed tourist guide with 20 years of experience leading people through transformative journeys in the Mediterranean and in Oman. On this retreat, every session is designed to give you something you can take home — not just a memory, but a practice.

This Retreat Is For You If…

• You’ve been telling yourself you’ll “do something for yourself” for months and keep putting it off
• You want to move your body without being pushed to perform or keep up
• You’re curious about yoga or Ayurveda but don’t want a retreat that takes itself too seriously
• You’d love to travel somewhere beautiful but don’t want to do it alone
• You want to come back home with something practical — better sleep, a morning routine, tools that actually work in real life
• You’re happy to walk 6–11km a day on varied terrain and sleep well afterwards
• You are travelling solo or as a couple — both are equally welcome

This retreat is probably not for you if
you’re looking for an advanced yoga training, a party atmosphere or a resort-style holiday with a yoga class on the side. That’s not what this is — and we’d rather you know that now.

The luxury of a small group

Twelve guests is not a marketing number. It’s a deliberate choice.

It means Jana knows your name, your yoga experience and what you’re carrying before you arrive. It means Dita can adapt the pace, the route and the stops to the actual people on the trail that day — not a fixed programme designed for an imaginary average guest.

It means if the weather changes, we change with it. If someone needs a slower morning, we slow down. A small group is flexible in a way that larger retreats simply cannot be. It’s also safer — in the mountains, with 12 people and two licensed guides, nobody gets lost, nobody gets left behind and every decision is made with everyone in mind.

This is what you’re paying for when you choose a retreat of this size. Not just the yoga, the hikes, the spa and the views. The quality of attention. The ability to actually be seen.

What Makes This Retreat Different

Two licensed guides, not one. Jana is a certified yoga & Ayurveda teacher and licensed tourist guide. Dita is a certified mountain guide who has lived in Mallorca for over 20 years. Two experts, two perspectives, local knowledge no visiting instructor can replicate. When the weather changes  Dita knows exactly where to take you instead.

Built around integration, not performance. You won’t be pushed to do advanced poses or difficult trails to prove something. Everything is designed to work together — so that by day five your body is tired in the good way and your mind is genuinely quieter. Guests consistently say they sleep better on this retreat than they have in years. That’s not accidental.

Maximum 12 people — and that number is real. Twelve guests, two guides, one boutique hotel. Jana knows every person’s name, their yoga experience and their dietary needs before they arrive. That level of attention is only possible at this scale. It’s why people come back.

Mallorca hiking retreat

A boutique hotel, Port de Sóller

A luxury 4-star boutique hotel on the waterfront —  Port de Sóller.  Pool terrace, spa, sauna, Turkish bath, heated pool and jacuzzi — all included.
Small enough to feel personal. Beautiful enough to feel like a treat.
Rooms available as shared double or single occupancy. Both include full spa access and all retreat activities. The sea is a two-minute walk from the front door.

Food — what’s included

Breakfast — hotel buffet every morning. Fresh fruit, local cheese, eggs, pastries, yoghurt.  Fresh Mallorcan oranges to squeeze your own juice. Unhurried. Generous. A good start. Vegan and gluten-free options available.
Lunch — included, on the trail. Local family bars and village stops that Dita knows by name. Pa amb oli, tapas, olives, local cheese. Eaten slowly, usually with a view.
Dinner — not included, entirely yours. The hotel restaurant is excellent. Several local restaurants are a short walk away. Some guests eat together every night. Others prefer the quiet. Both are fine — you are not on a schedule after 7pm.

Everything is within your power, and your power is within you.” ―Janice Trachtman

Yoga sessions — all levels, no experience needed

You do not need any yoga experience. Not a single class. Not a single pose.
Every session is adapted to whoever is in the room. If something doesn’t work for your body, there’s a modification. There’s no pressure to perform, no competition, no one watching to see if you’re doing it right.
Most guests who arrive saying “I’m not really into yoga” leave asking Jana which mat to buy.

Where and when we practise

On fine mornings we practise on the hotel pool terrace. When the weather calls for it, we move indoors. All mats are provided. Just bring comfortable clothes.
Morning yoga — 60 minutes. Gentle, energising, sets the tone for the day.
Evening yoga — 60 minutes. Restorative, grounding, prepares your body for deep sleep.
By day three most guests say they’re sleeping better than they have in months.

What you’ll practise

A blend of Vinyasa flow and slow mindful movement — breath connected to movement, always accessible, never mechanical. Pranayama and meditation woven in throughout.
By the end of the retreat you’ll have a simple daily practice you can do at home — no class, no equipment, no mat required.
Esther came with no yoga experience. She bought a mat on the way home and was practising in her living room that same night.

A note from Jana

“The people who say ‘I’m not flexible enough for yoga’ are exactly the people yoga is for. Flexibility is not a prerequisite. What you need is curiosity and a willingness to breathe. I’ll take care of the rest.”
— Jana Vanhees, certified yoga & Ayurveda teacher, 20 years experience

Why Mallorca. And why October is the best time to come

The summer beach crowds are gone. The popular coastal towns have breathing room again — though the most scenic trails can still draw weekend walkers. Which is why we choose routes that take you deeper into the mountains, away from the well-worn paths.

The west coast — where we’re based in Port de Sóller — is the most dramatic part of the island. The Tramuntana mountains drop straight into the Mediterranean, the villages look like they haven’t changed in a century, and the air carries pine, citrus and sea all at once.
This is not a backdrop. It’s an active ingredient in the retreat.

Hiking through a UNESCO World Heritage landscape

The trails we walk pass through ancient olive groves, fragrant lemon and orange orchards, and mountain paths with views that stop you mid-step. You’ll pass through Fornalutx — twice voted Spain’s most beautiful village — and walk routes that locals have used for centuries.
These aren’t tourist hikes. They’re slow, conscious walks through one of the most quietly spectacular landscapes in Europe. The kind where you look up from a trail and suddenly realise your mind has been completely quiet for the past hour.
That’s the point. Planning a yoga retreat in Mallorca, Spain in autumn is one of the best decisions you can make. The island is quieter, warmer than you expect and completely itself.

Your 5-day itinerary

DAY 1 - Let's meet!

Arrival in Mallorca
Welcome to the island! Palma de Mallorca Airport is Spain’s third busiest, with frequent flights from many international destinations—so finding a flight that suits you should be easy.

To fully enjoy the start of our yoga retreat, please, plan to arrive at the hotel by 4:00 PM, so we can kick off the retreat together. If you’d like to arrive a day early to settle in and relax we’re happy to arrange an extra night’s stay for you.

Our hotel is tucked away on the island’s beautiful west coast, in the scenic Port de Sóller. You can reach it by taxi or local bus from the airport. Prefer a private transfer? Just let us know—we’re happy to help with airport pickups.

At 4:00 PM, we’ll gather as a group to officially begin our journey. We’ll start with a warm welcome circle, followed by a grounding opening yoga session to set our intentions for the days ahead.

DAY 2 - Around Port de Sóller

We’ll begin our Mallorca yoga retreat with a gentle, soul-soothing hike right near our base—an easy way to settle into the rhythm of the days ahead. After morning yoga to awaken the body and mind, and a relaxed breakfast, we’ll head out on our first hike: a meditative walk with forest therapy invitations.

Our trail winds through quiet paths scented with orange and lemon blossoms, passing rustic fincas nestled in the valley. As we walk, we’ll enjoy beautiful views of the Mediterranean landscape and the charming town of Port de Sóller. This area—know as the “Golden Valley”—is a perfect introduction to Mallorca’s natural beauty and its warm, local character.

We’ll circle bach to the Port of Sóller to stop for a snack. Then we will return to the  hotel feeling refreshed and inspired.  Later we will gather for our Ayurveda workshop and a calming evening yoga session to close the day.

(Easy walk, approx. 6 km | 2,5 hrs | ±200 m elevation)

DAY 3 - Coastal Hike from Deià to Port de Sóller

We’ll start the day with a morning yoga session to gently awaken the body and mind, setting the tone for the adventure ahead.

After breakfast we take a short bus ride to the mountain village of Deià, known for its artistic charm and stunning views. We will stroll through flower-lined streets and admire the traditional stone houses before we begin our coastal hike back to Port de Sóller.

The trail leads through ancient olive groves, with amazing sea views and peaceful forest paths. We’ll pause at a historic manor house and enjoy a delicious snack in Cas Mico, a hidden gem along the route.

Back at the hotel,  we will unwind with a restorative evening yoga session, rounding out a day of movement, nature and enchanting views.

(Moderate hike, approx. 11 km | 4,5 hrs | ±350 m elevation)

DAY 4 - Charming Villages & Ancient Paths

We begin our day with a morning yoga session to gently awaken the body and set a peaceful intention for the day ahead.

Our hike will take us through fragrant orange and lemon groves, ancient olive plantations and alongside Mallorca’s historic Moorish water canal system, still flowing after centuries. As we walk, we’ll pass through quiet countryside paths where donkeys and sheep graze peacefully, surrounded by the sounds, scents and colors of the island’s natural rhythm.

The highlight of today’s journey is a visit to Fornalutx—often named Mallorca’s most beautiful village and twice honored as Spain’s most charming town. Its flower-filled alleyways and rustic stone houses invite a slow, mindful stroll. Here, we’ll stop at a local bar to enjoy a simple, delicious break, a taste of Mallorca’s soul.

Our trail winds down into the town of Sóller and from there we board the romantic 100-year-old Tranvía (tram) —a historic ride back to Puerto de Sóller that lets you take in the landscape one last time from a different view.

In the evening we’ll come together for a soothing Facial Yoga & Massage session, using pure frankincense oil from Oman, to release tension and restore glow—an indulgent close to a day filled with movement, connection and calm.

(Easy hike, approx. 10 km | 4,5 hrs | ±300 m elevation)

DAY 5 - Farewell Hike

We’ll begin our last morning together with a  yoga session.

After breakfast we set off on our final hike, following a peaceful trail along the panoramic road in the Tramuntana Mountains—a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The views over Sóller and the Mediterranean landscape will be a breathtaking farewell gift from the island.

After the hike we will stop for a little snack —time to savor local flavors, reflect and enjoy being together one last time.

This walk marks the closing of our adventure. But if you’d like to stay a little longer and continue soaking in the peaceful charm of Port de Sóller, we’d be happy to arrange extra nights at the hotel—just let us know in advance.

We can also assist with airport transfers to make your departure smooth and easy.

We will officially close our time together at 2:00pm.

(Easy hike, approx. 6 km | 2,5h hrs | +150 / -250 m elevation)

Frequently asked questions about the Mallorca yoga & hiking retreat

Everything you need to know before you book. Still have a question? Reply to any email or message Jana directly on WhatsApp..

Do I need to be a yogi to join?

Not at all. This retreat is designed for anyone who loves nature, wants to move their body and needs a genuine reset — regardless of yoga experience. You can join every session or none of them. No one will notice and no one will mind.

That said — most guests who arrive saying “I’m not really into yoga” leave asking Jana which mat to buy. The sessions are that accessible.

What fitness level do I need for the hiking?

You need to be comfortable walking 6–11km per day on varied mountain terrain with some elevation change. You don’t need to be a hiker or an athlete — but you should be able to walk for 2.5–4.5 hours without it being a struggle.
The trails range from easy to moderate. Dita, our certified mountain guide, sets a pace that works for the whole group. No one gets left behind.
If you have any specific health concerns or injuries, message Jana before booking — she’ll tell you honestly whether this retreat is right for you.

What's the weather like in October and what should I pack?

Late October in Mallorca is warm and golden — typically 20–23°C during the day, cooler in the evenings and in the mountains. It’s one of the best times to be on the island: past the summer heat, before the winter rains. There can be occasional rain and mountain wind, so pack layers.

What to bring:
✓ Waterproof, windproof jacket. Head and neck cover.
✓ Hiking boots — waterproof, ankle support, rigid sole. No trainers. The terrain is rocky and your ankles will thank you.
✓ Comfortable yoga clothes — mornings can be cool
✓ Sun protection — it’s still warm enough to burn
✓ Reusable water bottle
✓ An open mind — everything else is provided

Yoga mats are provided. You do not need to bring your own.

If you have further questions about what to bring, please feel free to contact me.

Do I need travel insurance?

Yes — travel and health insurance is required for all guests. We also strongly recommend your policy covers trip cancellation. This isn’t bureaucracy — it’s genuine care. Things happen. Insurance means a cancelled trip doesn’t become a financial loss on top of a disappointment.

Can couples join, or is this mainly for solo travellers?

Both are very welcome. Solo travellers make up the majority of guests — many come alone specifically because it’s a safe, small group where you’re never actually on your own. Couples join too and find the shared experience brings them closer.

Is the deposit refundable if I can't make it?

The €200 deposit is non-refundable but fully transferable — if you can no longer attend, you can pass your spot to someone else. Cancellations before September 26, 2026 receive a full refund of any balance paid beyond the deposit. Cancellations after that date are non-refundable — which is exactly why we recommend trip cancellation insurance.
If the retreat is cancelled from our side for any reason, you receive a full refund.

What language are the sessions taught in?

All yoga sessions, workshops and guided hikes are conducted in English. The group is typically international which is part of what makes it special.

What My Clients Say

★★★★★ Rated 5 stars by every guest — 2024 & 2025 editions

The retreat was truly magical for me. I really don’t have anything negative to say.    The schedule of activities was just right, structured enough to get things moving, and  not too rigid to defeat the purpose of a retreat. Loved the balance of yoga and hikes, and exploring different parts of the island each day. The nature was breathtaking like the old sculptured olive trees, the carob trees, the colors… honestly too much beauty to even describe. I also appreciated how you pointed out the calming aspects of nature; the green for the eye, the tree hugging felt very nourishing.

Your yoga sessions gave me new things I’d never integrated before. Also, thank you for your clear, simple explanations! here in the U.S., instructors sometimes give so many anatomical terms and left–right directions that I feel like a lost GPS in the middle of class!

The Ayurveda workshop was completely new to me, and now I want to learn more.

You and Dita brought such calm, genuine energy and passion for what you do, and the group was wonderful. Thank you for creating such a nourishing experience.

Wanda, USA, 2025

I came home, bought a yoga mat, and started practising that same evening. That tells you everything about what Jana’s teaching does to you. I thoroughly enjoyed every single part of the retreat — the surroundings, the yoga classes, her positive energy, the other guests, the weather, the food. I’m back at work now but I still feel grateful and relaxed. When I talk about this trip it immediately brings a smile to my face.
Esther, The Netherlands, 2025
Words cannot express how godsend this retreat was at this point when I decided to travel on my own. I came in with minimal expectation since it was a last minute decision to travel and I was blown away by what a positive and uplifting experience this has been. From the location ( Mallorca is the best) to the thoughtful hotel selection, the much needed revitalizing yoga sessions and discussions, the beautiful and yet challenging hikes to the amazing company, I am grateful to have experienced it all. Thank you for being considerate to my meal preference also.  I enjoyed the ayurveda and facial yoga classes as well.
I will highly recommend this session to anyone needing to experience a fulfilling break.
Would love to stay connected.
Sweta. USA, 2025

“I thoroughly enjoyed your yoga and hiking retreat and am very grateful I was able to experience it with you and the group. It truly was an amazing time.

I really loved your flexibility with the program and with the people.

Although you had to do a lot of organizing and planning every day, especially due to the weather, you never appeared stressed. I always felt that I was in very good hands and that I didn’t have to worry about anything. I could just experience and enjoy.

I also really appreciated your authenticity and the way you interacted with everyone. The same applies to Dita!”

– Jenny, Germany, 2024

“I had a fantastic time at this Yoga & Hiking Retreat in Mallorca! ❤ If you love yoga and can’t resist a good hike in the mountains like me, this is totally your thing!

From day one, I felt like I was hanging out with friends. Jana together with mountain guide Dita created a super friendly atmosphere.

The spot Jana picked for us was just perfect: a cozy hotel, on the coast but at the same time in the middle of the most gorgeous mountain trails.

I honestly loved how Jana mixed it up – one moment you’re stretching on your mat, the next you’re out there discovering beautiful hiking paths.

This retreat was exactly what I needed – getting active in nature while also having those calm, mindful moments on the mat. If you’re thinking about it – just go for it! Such a great way to recharge and have fun at the same time! 🧘‍♀🏃‍♀✨”

-Lenka, Czech Republic. 2024

“The retreat was a very special experience for me. It was something out of my comfort zone, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Jana’s uplifting and positive energy made yoga sessions a safe space to connect, accept and just be in my body the way it was at that moment. She gently held space when I needed it to be held. I’m so grateful for that.

Dita took us along her secret trails where some breathtaking views were awaiting us. And the mouthwatering, authentic food made it even more special ❤”

-Ramune, UK, 2024

“Jana, Thank you it was wonderful ♥ Really a trip that stays in my heart and I will definitely recommend you to friends if they do a retreat or go to Ibiza! Thank you for being so kind and attentive 🙂

No room for improvement so far, except that it was busier in Port de Soller / Soller than I expected at the off-season, end of October, but that’s nothing you can do about.”

-Sophie, Germany, 2024
