September to November Is the Best Time to Practice by the Sea in Ibiza

Most people think Ibiza yoga ends when the tourists leave. Walk along the coast in late October and you’ll see why they think that. Half the beach clubs are shuttered, the pop-up yoga platforms are gone, even some of the well-known beachfront studios post the same sign: closed for the season, see you in April.

I don’t close.

If you search for yoga classes in Ibiza right now, you’ll find plenty of guides telling you the season runs spring to autumn and that’s that. For big beach-club setups, that’s often true, they need summer crowds to make the numbers work. But a small group session by the sea doesn’t need a crowd. It needs a mat, a view and someone who shows up. That’s exactly what keeps running here at Cap Negret through the autumn months. And honestly, during some of the best weeks of the year for it.

“I loved this yoga class, the location was stunning and the teacher (Jana) was great at adapting the class to the level of the students. It was one of the highlights of our trip 🌟” — Rebecca Mackenzie, Google Review

Why Autumn Is Actually the Better Season

I’ve been teaching yoga in Ibiza for over 15 years and if you asked me privately which months I love running classes the most I’d say right now.

The sea is still warm. Water temperatures barely drop as summer turns to autumn. You can finish a class and swim straight after, same as peak season.

The light is different. Autumn light in Ibiza has a gold, low-angle quality that summer’s harsh midday sun doesn’t give you..

Flights and stays cost less. If you’re combining a class or two with a short trip to the island, autumn prices for flights and accommodation are often close to half what they are in August.

The island itself is calmer. My classes are the same calm, focused practice all year round. That never changes. What does change in autumn is everything around it: fewer crowds on the roads, quieter beaches, less noise drifting over from the summer parties. If you came to Ibiza for stillness, autumn gives you more of the island to actually feel it in.

Common Questions About Autumn Yoga in Ibiza

I get asked some version of the same questions constantly, so let me just answer them directly here.

Are there yoga classes in Ibiza in autumn?

Yes, mine included. Sessions run right through the autumn months. If you’ve read that yoga in Ibiza is a summer-only thing, that’s true for a lot of places, not all of them.

Do I need experience to join?

No. Every class is beginner-friendly. I’ve taught complete first-timers and long-term practitioners in the same session more times than I can count. The practice adapts to you, not the other way round.

Is it worth it if I'm only in Ibiza for a few days?

This is the one I hear most from visitors staying in San Antonio or nearby. My honest answer: if your trip includes even one free morning, yes. A single class won’t change your life, but a single morning by the sea, breathing properly for the first time in months, tends to stay with people longer than they expect.

What happens if the weather is bad?

Hostal La Torre stays open year-round, so if wind or rain makes the outdoor spot impractical, the session simply moves inside. No cancellations, no lost bookings.

How do I book a class?

Through the schedule on my booking page. Pick a date, choose your option and you’re confirmed. If you have any questions first, message me directly on WhatsApp.

What an Autumn Class Actually Looks Like

Sessions run most mornings at Hostal La Torre. It’s a different scene from the island’s better-known yoga spots: no drum circles like Benirràs, no crowded decks like Cala Comte, just a small group and the cliff. As the season moves on, timings shift slightly later in the morning, typically 10am, which if anything makes it easier to fit around a relaxed holiday morning rather than an early alarm.

Classes are a gentle Hatha-based flow.  Steady, breath-led movement which is part of why complete beginners and experienced practitioners can genuinely share the same mat space without either feeling out of place.

You can join for:

  • Yoga only — €20
  • Yoga & Breakfast by the Sea — €35 (the most popular option)
  • Yoga, Breakfast & Cava — €45, a nice one if you’re marking something — a birthday, a hen weekend, or just the last morning of a good trip

Mats are provided. All levels are genuinely welcome.

If You’re Wondering When to Visit

Early-to-mid autumn tends to be the sweet spot. The sea is still swimmable, the island has properly quieted down after the summer rush, and the light in the early morning is some of the best of the year. As the season goes on, mornings get a little cooler and sessions become more weather-dependent. But they don’t stop. We simply watch the forecast and adjust.

A single class is exactly that: one morning, no commitment beyond it. If you find you want more than a single session — a fuller few days combining yoga, hiking and rest on the same stretch of coastline — I also run a multi-day retreat later in the season, which goes into far more depth than any drop-in class can.

Spaces are kept small on purpose. If you’d like to join a session, you can check the current schedule and book directly here, or message me on WhatsApp if you have questions about dates, the walk down to the cliff, or anything else before you commit.

Ibiza in autumn isn’t the island’s off-season. For yoga, it might be its best one.
