Yoga Retreats in Ibiza 2026: A Local’s Honest Guide
Ibiza has changed. The island that the world knew for its nightlife now quietly hosts some of the most extraordinary wellness experiences in Europe — yoga retreats, Ayurveda programmes, forest therapy, conscious hiking, stargazing and morning yoga by the sea. And yet, if you search for “yoga retreat ibiza” online, most of what you find is written by people who have never set foot on the island.
I have lived and taught yoga in Ibiza for over 20 years. I am a certified yoga instructor, Ayurveda practitioner and official Ibiza guide. I have watched the wellness scene here grow from a handful of instructors to a thriving community of teachers, healers and retreat leaders. I know which locations are genuinely spectacular and which are ordinary with good photography. I know which months are magical and which can be challenging. I know what makes a retreat in Ibiza work — and what does not.
This is my honest, local guide to yoga retreats in Ibiza in 2026.
Why Ibiza for a yoga retreat?
Most people do not immediately think of Ibiza when they think of a yoga retreat. That is changing fast. And it is changing for good reason.
The island has a quality of light and energy that is difficult to explain until you have experienced it. The landscapes shift from dramatic limestone cliffs above turquoise water to pine forests, almond groves and hidden coves. The air is clean. The pace, outside of the tourist areas, is unhurried. And there is a spiritual history here — the island has been a refuge for artists, free thinkers and seekers for decades — that gives the place a distinctive feeling of permission. Permission to slow down, to be present, to do things differently.
Ibiza also has something most traditional retreat destinations do not: genuine contrast. You can practise yoga above the Mediterranean in the morning, spend the afternoon on a secluded beach (if you know you know), eat extraordinary food in a local restaurant and watch one of the most famous sunsets in the world. All in a single day. The retreat experience is embedded in a place that is genuinely alive.
Practically speaking, Ibiza is well-connected. There are direct flights from most major European cities, a compact island easy to navigate, and a year-round mild climate that makes it one of the most accessible retreat destinations in Europe.
When is the best time for a yoga retreat in Ibiza?
This is the question I get asked most. The honest answer might surprise you.
June to August is peak season. The island is beautiful but busy. Prices are high, roads can be congested and the energy is more frenetic. Yoga is absolutely possible and wonderful in summer. But it is not the most contemplative time to come for a retreat.
September and October are, in my experience, the best months for a yoga retreat in Ibiza. The sea is still warm enough to swim. The light is extraordinary, golden and long. The island is quieter, more like itself. The locals come back. The energy settles. October in particular has a quality that regular visitors describe as almost magical. The closing of the season, the return to nature, a collective exhaling. It is the month the island becomes itself again.
April and May are also excellent. The island is flowering, lush and uncrowded. Spring in Ibiza has a freshness and lightness that is quite different from the summer intensity.
November to March is quiet and some venues close. But the island has a raw beauty in the off-season and the yoga community is active year-round.
What to look for in an Ibiza yoga retreat
With more retreats launching every year, here is what I would look at before booking:
The instructor’s real connection to the island. Many retreat leaders rent a villa for a week and run their programme. That is a valid model. But it is different from being taught by someone who has been rooted here for decades. When I lead a hike through Ibiza’s north, I know which path opens onto a viewpoint most tourists never reach, which local restaurant has been serving the same family recipe for thirty years, and which stretch of coastline is completely empty at 8am. That local knowledge is part of what you are booking. Ask how long the instructor has lived in Ibiza and what their genuine relationship to the place is.
Group size. Small groups — maximum 10 to 14 people — allow for genuinely personal attention and a different quality of connection between participants. Large groups of 20 or more are more of a course than a retreat. If intimacy matters to you, check the numbers before booking.
The location’s relationship to nature. Ibiza’s power is in its landscape — the coast, the forests, the light. A retreat that takes place entirely indoors or in a conventional hotel setting misses the point of being here. Look for programmes that genuinely integrate the outdoors: coastal hiking, open-air yoga, time at the sea.
What is actually included. Some retreats list excursions or activities that turn out to be optional extras at additional cost. Read the details carefully. The retreats that feel most transformative are those where the programme is complete and considered. Where nothing important is left to chance or additional payment.
The instructor’s certifications. Yoga teachers vary enormously in training and experience. Look for formal certifications in yoga, additional disciplines such as Ayurveda or meditation, and years of actual teaching experience.
Our yoga retreats in Ibiza and Mallorca — what we offer
I run two retreats each year — one in Ibiza and one in Mallorca — both designed with these principles at their centre.
Yoga & Pilates Retreat Ibiza — October 1–4, 2026
Four days at Hostal La Torre, a clifftop boutique hotel on Ibiza’s west coast with direct views over the Mediterranean. The programme includes daily yoga and Pilates, sea kayaking along the coastline, conscious coastal hiking on authentic Ibiza routes, an Ayurveda workshop you take home as a daily rhythm, and a professional stargazing session with an astronomer and high-powered telescope.
Maximum 12 guests. All levels welcome — complete beginners are warmly received. From €1,380 per person including three nights accommodation and all meals.
What makes it different: the combination of yoga, Pilates, kayaking and stargazing is genuinely rare in Ibiza. The location — directly above the sea, in one of the island’s most spectacular spots — is unlike any retreat venue I know of elsewhere on the island. And I am with the group for the entire four days. Every meal, every hike, every evening.
“Nothing negative to say — truly magical.” — Wanda, USA ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
“The sessions were challenging but accessible. I left feeling stronger, calmer and more connected to the island than I ever expected.” — María, Spain ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Led jointly by myself and Dita. Dita is a mountain guide who has lived in Mallorca for over 20 years. This dual expertise — a certified yoga teacher and an official mountain guide — makes this retreat genuinely unusual and genuinely complete.

Frequently asked questions about yoga retreats in Ibiza
Do I need yoga experience to join a retreat in Ibiza?
No experience is needed. Both our Ibiza and Mallorca retreats welcome complete beginners. Every session is adapted to the level of the group, and modifications are offered throughout. The most important quality to bring is an open mind.
Is October a good time for a yoga retreat in Ibiza?
October is one of the best months on the island. The sea is still warm enough to swim, the island is quieter and more authentic, the light is extraordinary and golden. And prices are significantly lower than summer. It is the month Ibiza truly exhales.
How small are the groups?
Maximum 12 guests in both retreats. This is intentional. Small groups allow for genuine personal attention, deeper connection between participants, and a more contemplative experience overall. It is the single most important thing we protect.
What is included in the retreat price?
Both retreats include accommodation, meals, all yoga and movement sessions, and all activities — kayaking, hiking, stargazing, Ayurveda workshop, forest therapy. The price is complete. There are no significant extras.
How do I reserve a place?
A €200 deposit secures your space. The balance is due closer to the retreat date. Contact Jana directly via WhatsApp or book through the retreat pages linked above.
Can I come alone?
Absolutely. Many guests come solo. The small group format creates a natural environment for genuine connection, and solo travellers consistently say the retreat was the most socially rewarding part of their trip.
What is the difference between the Ibiza and Mallorca retreats?
The Ibiza retreat is centred on the clifftop sea setting — yoga, Pilates, kayaking and stargazing in one of the island’s most spectacular coastal locations. The Mallorca retreat is centred on mountains and hiking — deeper into nature, more physically active, with a stronger emphasis on landscape and forest. Both are small, personal and led by certified instructors with deep roots in their respective islands.
Are the retreats suitable for solo women travellers?
Yes — and many of our guests are solo women. The small group creates a safe, warm and genuinely connected environment. Several guests have returned for a second retreat after coming alone the first time.
A final thought
The best yoga retreat is not necessarily the most expensive one, or the most Instagram-worthy one, or the one with the most activities listed. It is the one where you feel genuinely held. Where the instructor knows what they are doing, the place has real meaning. And the programme has been designed with care.
Ibiza has that. In October, with the season quietening and the island returning to its natural rhythm, it has it in abundance.
Are you considering a yoga retreat this year?
If you are considering a yoga retreat in Ibiza this year — or a hiking and yoga retreat in Mallorca — I would love to hear from you.
